Some advice from our existing members to beginners.

" You don’t have to be at a certain fitness level to start CrossFit; you just have to start! I hear often that people think they need to workout before starting. That’s not the case. Each movement can be scaled and modified to fit your fitness level and needs. Working with a prior injury or surgery, that’s ok too. There is something you can do instead. CrossFit it a community of people that encourage one another to finish the workout and come back tomorrow. Once you start.... no matter how hard it is or how much it hurts..... you will want to come back for more. You will leave feeling accomplished every single time!" - Brandi Ladner, member of the CFGB family since April of 2015

"It's like the first day at school syndrome! Where you are placed in unfamiliar surroundings with strangers and afraid to fail. The unfamiliar surroundings became my playground with the best of friends and to fail was par for the course!" - David Bryant, member of the CFGB family since April of 2015

"You leave feeling accomplished and strong every time. There's an emphasis on safely building up to your personal fitness goals in an incredibly supportive environment. So glad I joined!" - Natalie Hollar, member of the CFGB family since October of 2017

"CrossFit allows you to scale and modify the workouts based on your fitness level, and if you scale a workout you will not be alone! It’s great working out with people who all have the same goal- to be better than you were the day before, no matter what that means for you specifically." - Jaclyn Burleson, member of the CFGB family since March of 2016

"CrossFit helps you realize fitness and health ebbs and flows. You’ll have good days and bad days. Sometimes life gets in the way. Just show up, respect your body and appreciate how adaptable and strong it is." - Mai Morris, member of the CFGB family since April of 2013

"Everyone started exactly where I did- with a dowel or empty barbell. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses- everyone struggles with something. But the support, encouragement and accountability you have from everyone in the "box" make it all worth it." - Kyndra Ring, member of the CFGB family since April 2015

"It’s ok to scale/pace the workout until you're conditioned to handle the intensity. " - Trish Phaneuf, member fo the CFGB family since April of 2015

Anyone can do it, even if they’ve never lifted weights before. Scaling is always an option. Don’t be afraid to try it. You just have to step out of your comfort zone and start. Your “Box” will become your family. YOU WILL LIVE SORE, but it’s so worth it. - Christy Salter, member of the CFGB family since April of 2015

"Finding out that everyone is suffering as much as I was during the work outs was comforting." - Chris Thompson, member of the CFGB family since August of 2016

"Have fun. Laugh at yourself. CrossFit ain't that serious." - Kamie Larson, member of the CFGB family since April of 2015

"You don’t have to be an “athlete” to do CrossFit." - lone Villegas, member of the CFGB family since April of 2016

"Had a blast running the Milton Tough Mudder with this beastly team. If your looking for an awesome group to get your fitness on with, look no further. CrossFit Gulf Breeze is where you need to be!" - Randall Lowe

"My first time here and it was a great experience. I will be back for sure! It's a great atmosphere and friendly people." -Susan Jones

"I came to CFGB after WODing outside in the desert (Middle East) for two years. I have never done anything athletic in my life before I found crossfit, about 5 years ago. I still struggle with athleticism and lack of coordination daily as evident in my performance:(. But, I really appreciate JV's patience in working with me at becoming better everyday. I know I will never go to regionals, but I just may get a 65# snatch. If it weren't for CFGB I would probably spend my days lying around on the couch watching depressing lifetime movies and wishing I were in better shape. I am so appreciative to JV, all the CFGB coaches, and fellow members who inspire me to keep on keeping on! Thank you to everyone for the support and inspiration!." -Krystal Hood
